Caroline is really starting to love her toys. She will sit and play for longer periods of time now. We have cleared out all the furniture, decor, etc. in the formal living room and converting that into Caroline's playroom. We never used that room anyways and Caroline's toys are taking over our house. I am trying to keep the theme in the playroom unisex, since we have no idea if baby #2 is going to be a boy or girl. So, I have decided to go with an animal theme based upon some really neat pictures that I found for the playroom. I will posts lots of pics when I am done. It will be work in progress for awhile. Here are some cute pics of Caroline playing in her very unfinished playroom, but hey she doesn't seem to mind!!

No, Katie, NO!!!
Katie and Lacey are wonderful with Caroline, well except when she does the death grip on their fur. David and I are constantly prying Caroline's hands open, so she will let go of their fur. They have figured out to stay far away. Once, Miss Caroline is mobile, they are never going to get any rest, except for when Caroline is napping!! Katie and Lacey always had two huge toy baskets with their toys. Now, they are very confused because Caroline has bins of toys everywhere. I catch Katie all the time pulling all sorts of Caroline's toys out. I usually just tell her "NO" and she drops it. Well, there is this one teething ring, it is only about $1.49, but Caroline loves it. Well, this picture is the third one that Katie has destroyed. I don't know what it is about this teething ring. She always tears it up when David and I are in the process of getting Caroline down for bed. Of course, David and I crack up every time, but as you can see in those pitiful eyes, she was very sorry!!
6-Month Stats!!
Yesterday, my sweet Caroline was six months old!! I am a little sad how fast she is growing, but it is amazing watching her do new things everyday!! We went to a new pediatrician in the same clinic and we LOVED her. Thanks to my good friend Stephanie for referring us. Dr. Ahart was amazing!! She sat and talked to us for almost a hour. I had lots of questions and she was more than willing to take the time and answer them. She was very impressed because Caroline sat up unsupported the whole time, while we visited. Caroline had to get three shots, two in one leg and one in the other. She didn't even cry at all. She started to get a little red in the face on the second one, but then she looked at her mommy and daddy and just smiled real big!! Caroline's weight was 17.6 pounds (75th percentile), her height was 25.5 inches (40th percentile), her head was in the 20th percentile. I think she is a little longer than that, but it took three of us just to get her to lay there for a second, she kept trying to turn over on her tummy. She is just a wiggle worm. Here are some things that Caroline is doing at 6 months:
She sits up all by herself for very long periods of time.
She will scoot to get to a toy that she wants.
She has 4-6 bottles during the day with about 6-7 oz. She would drink 8 oz, but her reflux is still pretty bad and it will just come right back up.
She eats 2-3 jars of stage 2 baby foods.
We always give her oatmeal in the mornings with a fruit, she will have a vegetable for lunch and usually a veggie and fruit for dinner. We have given her some water with very little juice and she loves it.
With the exception of a few nights, she sleep from 8-8:30 usually wakes at 6am for bottle, then goes right back to sleep until 8:30 or 9am.
Caroline takes great naps, that was a huge accomplishment from month 4 until now. She will usually take two very good ones that will last from 1-3 hours. She will sometimes take a third cat nap around 5pm, but that is completely up to her.
She puts everything in her mouth and loves to pick up and touch everything and anything.
Caroline still has no teeth, I know it will be any day now.
I talked to the doctor about her fussy attitude and how easily she gets tired. She told me that some babies just need more sleep. So, I think she wears down after about a hour or so of playing because she goes 100 percent the whole time. She also said that she is a very strong-willed baby, which can sometimes be hard on mom and dad, but it will pay off in the future. That was my only concern at her 6-month checkup.
We love you Pumpkin Head!!!
Awesome email forward!!
I just got this awesome email forward, I had to share it with all the moms out there. It is so true!!
Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.I never thought about immunizations. Before I was a Mom, I had never been puked on.Pooped on.Chewed on.Peed on.I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.I slept all night. Before I was a Mom, I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.Or give shots.I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep. Before I was a Mom,I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom. Before I was a Mom,I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy. Before I was a Mom, I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Caroline's First Christmas!!
Oh sweet Caroline, mommy is so sorry she is so late putting up her Christmas pictures. We had so many, so as you can tell it was very hard for me to narrow them down. We celebrated Christmas Day at our house. It was a wonderful time!! David's mom came to visit for almost a week, so it was great for Sassy to be able to spend Caroline's first Christmas with her. I can't even begin to imagine how fun Christmas is going to be in a couple of years, with two little ones. I can't wait to explain to Caroline and Baby K about the true meaning of Christmas!! I have so many traditions that I want to start each Christmas. I think I will try to start those when Caroline is 2 and Baby K is 1. Caroline was a little spoiled this first Christmas. Every present under the tree was for her. Caroline wants to thank her grandparents, aunts, uncles for all the wonderful gifts that she received!!

Many updates coming soon!!
I am looking forward to get back into the blogging world. I have so many posts to do later this week, yes it may be later this week. We are all good in the Kelly house. Caroline will be 6 months old on Wednesday. We had a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year!! I have so many pictures, not sure where to start. I also had my first appointment to check on Baby K and everything looked great, what a relief!! My 11 week check up will be January 19th. I am finally starting to feel a LITTLE better. I don't want to get too excited about that yet!! David was off work for two weeks and we had so much wonderful family time, just the three of us!! I have to admit, I got a little spoiled having David home all day!! Look for some fun posts later this week. I have a ton of work to catch up for now while my sweet pea is napping!!
