Caroline has a new way of taking baths!!

Caroline outgrew her infant tub, so of course we didn't put it too far away (since new baby will need it soon). She can sit up very well by herself, but of course it makes me nervous in the bath tub. I thought this would be a great transition for her :) She loves it!!

Just a day in the life of Caroline!!

I don't think I ever posted that Caroline no longer goes to Mother's Day Out at The Cathedral School downtown!! I took her out right after Christmas, but she barely went in December. They had decided to close down anyways because they needed 10 more children to support the program. A lot of stay-at-home mommies had gone back to work full time, so the Mother's Day Out hours were not meeting their needs. I did love Caroline being in Mother's Day Out for so many reasons. I knew it would be good for her to get out of the house and be around other babies and other adults. Plus, it would give me some time to work without any interruptions, go to doctor's appts, etc. But, I don't miss it at all. Of course we miss her wonderful teachers. Caroline is on a clockwork schedule. Sometimes that is not a good thing if I do have an appt during naptime, but I try my best to schedule everything around naptime. The naps are crucial in our house. We usually get out once a day to run some errands or just go shopping!!! My good friend Shelley came to visit us the other day and we took Caroline to the mall!! We had so much fun!!

1. What are you wearing right now? sweat pants and sweat shirt, about to get ready for the day so Caroline and I can run some errands

3. Do you nap a lot?no, I wish I could. I have a zillion things to do while Caroline is napping.

5. What's your current obsession/addiction? buying stuff for Caroline and thinking about baby names for number 2



6. What are you looking forward to in the next few months? Vacation, vacation, vacation. We are going on first family vacation to Destin in May, can't wait. Then, after that in just a few short months I get to meet my new baby

8. What was the last item you bought? pictures that I ordered online from Walgreens



9. What is your most challenging goal? Trying to get all my tasks done during the day with a 6-month old. I always have so much work to do. Also, trying to balance my schedule once August gets here and I have two babies at home. Also, finding time for "David and Me" time. We are going to start going on more dates :)



10. If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished- anywhere in the world, where would it be? Maui, Hawaii right on the beach



11. Favorite Vacation spot? anywhere there is a beach, but so far Virgin Islands and Hawaii

In reality, we have only known each other a little over a year. I can't wait for our babes to grow up together. 13. Name one thing you just can't resist no matter how bad it is for you:Sodas, I love Dr. Pepper and Mt. Dew, it is such a bad habit!!



14. What is your favorite item of clothing?My Citizens of Humanity Jeans, I even love my pregnancy ones :) I guess I will need to get those back out soon!!



15. Favorite pair of shoes you keep going back to over and over, even though your closet is over flowing with a zillion others? tennis shoes, I know that is horrible but they are so comfortable and having to tote around a 20-pound baby I have learned to love them even more



16. Name one thing you can not live with out: My body pillow, I started using it while i was pregnant with Caroline and I can't sleep without it now.



17. What is your biggest pet peeve? People that do not treat their children the way they are supposed to. Bad drivers.



18. what are your favorite shows? Grey's Anatomy, The Bachelor/Bachlorette, Private Practice, Gary Unmarried, CSI NY, Desperate Housewives, Jon and Kate Plus 8, I think that is it for now :)

19. what did you do today?? So far, I have returned about 20 phone calls to clients, played and fed Caroline, put C down for a nap, did a little blogging, now off to have a productive afternoon

20. Who did you miss the most everyday?? I miss my Dad dearly. I would love for him to see me as a "Mommy" and get to love on his sweet granddaughter!!

Playdate with Graham!!

A couple of weekends ago, Stephanie and Graham came over for a Saturday afternoon playdate. We had so much fun!! Graham was a little fussy, we thought maybe it was his teeth, but no teeth for Graham yet :) I think he was a little overwhelmed at Caroline. She wouldn't not leave him alone for a second. She was grabbing his face, paci and everything else she could get her hands on. I can't wait for Graham to get as mobile as Caroline, he is going to give her a run for her money. Graham is only two months behind Caroline, so any day now he will show her who is boss. Also, Graham is 5 months old today, so Happy 5 months Graham!! We are planning a zoo date for this Saturday, we are so excited!!

Inauguration Day 2009

I took these photos on Inauguration Day. I usually don't keep the television on all morning during Caroline's playtime, but I wanted Caroline to watch history in the making. These are some new Punk Princess pj's, this was the first time for her to sleep in them and they are already too small. You can tell Miss Sleepyhead just woke up, you can even see her helmet imprint from wearing it all night. As of yesterday (02-03-09) she weighed 19 lbs 6 oz (wow)!!

Here are some cute shots of Caroline a couple of weeks ago hanging out on the back porch on her bean bag!! She LOVES to be outside, so we are so ready for the Spring. I have many, many posts to do before her 7-month birthday on Saturday. I promise to get the rest of her 6-month shots up later this week. Sidenote: Caroline has had chronic constipation for months now, we have tried everything and I mean everything that is safe for her. Well, finally I thought maybe she doesn't need the special Amino Acid based formula anymore, so I would try her on regular formula. I was so nervous to start it because I knew the allergic reactions she had months ago, but she was only 4 weeks old and she is now almost 7 months old. Well, I started it yesterday and so far so good. No tummy problems and we have had some awesome poops today :) I really hope this is the answer for Caroline. It was so hard to watch her strain so HARD while trying to go to the bathroom.

Yum, Prunes!!

Let's just say Caroline has been a little irregular. I gave her some prunes thinking it would help the situation, but it didn't. She does love prunes though. When the prunes didn't work, her pediatrician said to use some Karo Syrup. Well, I put Karo in three of her bottles that day and let's just say she was on a sugar high for about two days. I have cut it back to about once a day or every other day and I am seeing some results.

I love my Paul Frank pj's!!

I bought Caroline some Paul Frank pj's for Christmas. They are size 12 months, but I desperately needed to do laundry the other night, so I just tried them on for fun. They fit everywhere, except the shirt came down a little low. Here a cute pics of her in her pjs :)

OMG, OMG we have a tooth~Almost!!

I had to post this really quick so I wouldn't forget my excitement!! I was putting Caroline down for her nap and she was going to town on my finger. I instantly felt something very, very sharp and sure enough we almost have our first bottom tooth!!! I started jumping up and down and Caroline wasn't sure what I was so excited about. It makes me all happy and sad at the same time. She is growing so fast and changing every single day :) I am so lucky to get to work from home and I never miss a thing. She really hasn't been fussy, so maybe this first tooth won't even phase her, but we have many more to go!! I promise I have lots and lots of pics. Once again, I am way behind in updates. I am not sure how I am going to keep this blog up with two babies. But, I am sure I will somehow manage to find time. Hope everyone is having a great week!!

Oh, Daddy how I miss you every day!!!

It has been five years ago today that my dad passed away of lung cancer. He fought a very hard battle, but God decided to call him home!!! There is never a day that I don't think about him. I also tell Caroline everyday how spoiled and loved she would of been by your sweet grandpa!! He was always anxious for grandkids, but knew it would probably be several years before any came into this world. Caroline's middle name "Mae" is named after his mom and he was always a momma's boy :) What I would do for my dad just to be able to meet Caroline for a minute, but I know they will meet someday. I will always tell Caroline stories about her grandpa that is in Heaven. I found this poem and it is exactly what I feel today:

And as she grows

Playdates!!

Caroline and I would love to know if there is anyone in the Maumelle, Little Rock, or Conway area that do regular play dates for her age group. I have tried to find some in the area, but I have no luck. Please let me know if you read our blog or know someone with a little boy or girl around Caroline's age. I would like to get a group together before Spring gets here :)

The other night it was sooo cold!! David got a fire going, so the living room was so toasty. We cleared out the ottoman and let Caroline have the run of the whole room. She went from one end to the other, just rolling and scooting everywhere. She loves to get on her side to push herself. Katie and Lacey were right in the middle of all the action. They were a little surprised that she was rolling over to them. She had soo much fun!! These are the simple moments that I never want to forget!!
