The weather was like this the whole time, we were there.

The picture does not do the trees justice, they looked fake.
They had the most amazing colors in the trunks.

First stop on the "Road to Hana"

Katie and Lacey were so excited to see us.

David and I in Dallas after our overnight flight.

I know that we have been back for almost two weeks, but we have been so busy ever since. I don't even know where to begin about our trip, it was so amazing. We left on a Thursday morning for the dreaded long flight, (trust me going there is so much better than coming back). Our flight wasn't too bad, we watched a couple of movies and tried to get some rest. Once, we landed we had originally booked an economy car, but we decided to upgrade to a Jeep Wrangler. So, we got this brand new yellow jeep with only 9 miles on it. If I lived in Hawaii, I would own a jeep for sure. We then headed in search of our condo, it was about 45 minutes from the airport, but the drive was beautiful along the way, mountains on one side and water on the other. It was breathtaking. We got to a scenic lookout point just as the sun was setting, let me tell you the Hawaiian sunsets are unbelievable. We eventually made it to our condo and it was great. It was a studio, but was at least 750 square feet. You could throw a rock in the ocean, it was definitely oceanfront. I wanted to be on the higher floors, but they were at 100% capacity when we arrived, so the only room was on the second floor. It was great, because we fell asleep every night to the waves crashing. It was weird when we got back home and the only sound we had was our fan in the bedroom. We grabbed a quick dinner that night at Bubba Gumps, we were so exhausted. The first full day we woke up very early, since it is 4 hours behind there, our bodies woke up super early. We wanted to go get a few grocery items for the kitchen, eat breakfast and then spend the rest of the day at the beach. So, my friend Amber recommended "The Gazebo" for breakfast and she was exactly right, the best breakfast on Maui. After breakfast, we stopped at a local farmers market to pick up a fresh pineapple and some fresh guacamole. We then headed to the beach for the rest of the day. The second day we decided to do the Road to Hana!! It was beautiful but very scary. There are around 656 curves and thirty something one lane bridges. At one point, we heard a truck honking and the next thing we know, we are meeting a cement truck almost head on. Thank goodness David was driving, I just kept my eyes shut half the time. It took a good 8 hours there and back because we made some stops along the way to check out some beautiful landmarks. We visited the black sand beach, it was so awesome!! After that stressful day, we didn't do much that evening but relax!! The next day we spend the whole day at the beach, it was my favorite. We ate lunch at an awesome beach side restaurant and that evening we went to Lahaina to do some shopping!! Our actual anniversary day was jam packed. We begin the day by heading to a golf course right along the water, so David could play 18 holes. I didn't play, just went along for the ride. After the golf, we decided to hit the beach and relax for a few hours before our dinner reservations. We decided to splurge one night and go to Mama's Fish House (very pricey, but the best seafood on the island). The place was amazing. I will post pics of the flowers in the restaurant, they looked fake but everything was real. I got a fresh lei since we were there celebrating our anniversary. Pretty much the rest of the trip we did some sightseeing and went to relax by the beach. David asked me what I wanted for our anniversary and I just said to relax and I got my wish!! Sorry, the pictures are not in the best order. We needed about one more week to do everything, so hopefully soon we will go back to visit. Hint, hint David!!!

Your pictures are awesome! I am so glad you & David got to visit Maui. It's a beautiful place! Tell David I didn't like the Mai Tais either, the Lava Flow was my drink of choice over there-yum! Charlie & I are definitely going back one day. You did a great job on your post.

Have you put up your Christmas tree yet?
