Puppy Park!!!

Since the weather has cooled down, we have been taking the dogs to the puppy park at Burns Park. They seem to really enjoy it. Lacey is very protective of Katies. So anytime, that Katie is playing with another dog, Lacey steps in and does her growling thing. Yesterday, Katie got really scared becasue there were three big dogs chasing her. They were not going to hurt her, but she freaked out and started squealing as if she was hurt, just so they would leave her alone. Katie is by far the drama queen of the family. Here are a few pics, it was hard to get a good pic. Besides playing, they usually do the sniffing of the bottoms thing a lot too!!

Fall is finally here!!!!

Well, I wanted to decorate outside the front door for the fall. So, I saw these cute little scarecrows and could not pass them up!!! The only disadvantage to this is that the dogs can see through the front door and they bark every morning because they think the girl scarecrow is someone standing in front of the door. They are getting better each day, so hopefully they are remembering. I have to open the door, so they can check it out everyday!!

Check out the new hammock!!!

We finally got our hammock to put next to our pond, so if we ever find time to relax we can enjoy the sounds of the water running in the waterfall!!! We bought the hammock on Ebay for like $2.00, but the shipping was around $23.00. So, overall I think we got a great deal!! It is very comfortable for both of us. So, when were in Home Depot this past weekend, we saw the two red pillow, so we thought that would finish it off.

Buffing the Stained Concrete!!

David borrowed a buffer from his work and went to town on our floors. They had lost some of their original shine and there were some scuff marks from moving in. So, we went to Home Depot to get the pads for the bottom of the buffer. It took David around 3 to 4 hours to do the all house. They look great!! The pictures that I took do not do them justice. They have an awesome shine!!

White Trash Bunco Party!!!!!

Once a month I meet with a group of 12 ladies (including me) to play bunco. We actually socialize more than play the game. We take turns each month meeting at someone's house. The host does appetizers, dinners, drink and desserts. But, starting this month we are just doing drinks and desserts. We are starting to do a theme each month, so the month of September was "white trash", we had everything from mullets to I love Billy Bob marker tatoos. It was so much fun!!!

Backyard Pond finally finished!! ( Minus the underwater lights)

David recently finished one of the major last projects of the house. The waterfall/pond. It took lots of planning to get the rocks put into just the right place. We have some underwater lights on their way to us at the moment from an ebay purchase.

R.I.P. Valentine

As all of you know, David and I have the two most wonderful dogs ever. They are keeshonds. I had never heard of this breed until the first time I went home to Florida with David. Well needless to say, it was love at first sight when I met their dog Valentine. So, after we left Ken and Joyce's house (my in-laws) , I started searching for a keeshond puppy. Now, two years later we have two (Katie and Lacey). Unfortunately, Valentine was much older than our puppies and passed away a little over a week ago. So, I wanted to post a pic of Valentine the last time that I was in Florida. He was such an amazing dog and his memories will stay with all of us forever. We love and miss you sweet boy!!!

Birthday parties!!!

We had a very busy weekend. On Friday night we went to an Air Force officer's going away party. Free food and drinks were included. Then we went on to meet some friends downtown to see PM Dawn (old school R&B group). We decided to call it night shortly after that. Then on to Saturday we went to my cousins' birthday parties. Brianna was turning 3 and Alexis was 2. It was great to see lots of family and watch the girls open all their presents. After that we just relaxed at home for Saturday evening. On Sunday, we woke up early to go to Home Depot to get a few things and then went to breakfast at Denny's. We were supposed to take Katie and Lacey to a dog paddle party, but once we got there we saw a sign that it had been re-scheduled for October 8th.

Sidenote: The backyard pond is near completion. I didn't get any pictures before the rain began, so I will post those later this week.

Pics of House

I wanted to add some pics of the house, since everything is pretty much finished, except for the privacy fence. We will be getting that in a few weeks. We began building in November and it was completed at the end of May. David was the main contractor, so needless to say he had a busy six months. We did a lot of the work on our own. But, it was worth all the tears, stress, and anticipation. We had so much fun picking everything out. I think David is ready to build again, but we will wait a few years to see where David's career is going to take us.

Yummy Ribs!!!

David and I had a very relaxing weekend. We went to dinner Friday night and went to see "The Convenant", which we do not reccommend. On Saturday, we had Doug and Lori over for dinner. We had ribs, steak, baked potatoes, salad, green bean casserole and rolls. It was delicious. On Sunday, David began working on the small pond and waterfall in our backyard. I will post pictures once the project is completed.

Labor Day Weekend

David and I had a very busy Labor Day weekend. We started the weekend off by finishing up the rocks for our landscaping project. Then we headed off to the Chuckwagon Races in Clinton, Arkansas. It was the 21st Annual celebration. We were very excited because they allow you to bring your dogs. So, we packed up the family in my explorer and took off. Once, we got there we had managed to follow Sarah (my sister) and Jason(her boyfriend) into the wrong entrance. So, we had to cross a rockbed river, good thing we have a SUV. Once, we finally got parked, we took our chairs and cooler and found a nice spot under a shade tree. Then the races began. After an afternoon of the races, we headed to Jason K. uncles' camping property. It has 365 acres and we went down to the pond so the pups could go swimming. We pretty much just relaxed and rode four wheelers the rest of the afternoon. It was a great day!!
