Baby Brother!!

Baby Brother was sleeping while Big Sister was playing in his swing!!

Big Sister is just a swingin!!

This video pretty much explains itself :) David and I were cracking up at Caroline!!

Coming home day!!

Here are just two pics of our sweet boy about to come home for the first time.

Day one at the hospital!!

Look at that beautiful hair!!

Corbin's wreath that my creative sister made. Click on the picture and you can see all the details.

Here are some pictures from Corbin's first full day at the hospital. I delivered at St. Vincent's this time and it was wonderful. Missy was our nurse each night and I have known her for years, so it was nice to have the special attention from her :) Corbin slept so much, we were constantly having to wake him to feed, change, etc. As of right now, he is a complete opposite of Caroline. Poor Caroline screamed for so many hours a day. Thankfully, Corbin only cries when he is hungry, wet, dirty or gassy. He is such a good baby, David and I just love to cuddle him nonstop :)

Aunt Sarah, we think it is your turn now :)

Getting ready to push.
Waiting for Dr. Harrison, so I can start pushing.

Happy Parents.

First, I want to thank all of our family and friends that has given us help, support, advice, etc. through this amazing journey. Corbin arrived July 23rd, 2009 at 7:23p.m. I didn't even realize until my friend Bern told me, but Corbin was born 7-23 at 7:23pm :) I was just thinking how crazy it was that Caroline was born at 7:24 pm. I had an amazing delivery with Corbin, I really didn't think I would get as lucky this time as I did with Caroline. When, I went to my 38-week check up on Thursday morning I was 4 cm and 80 effaced and just happened that Dr. Harrison was on call. Sidenote: William Harrison is the best doctor, if any of you ladies that read my blog are looking for an OB, you will love having him as your doctor. Dr. Harrison knew if he sent me home, that I would be back in full labor on my own by 2 or 3 am, so he decided to admit me to labor and delivery. He was already scheduled to deliver 6 other baby boys that day, so he decided to let me progress on my own throughout the day. I got all settled in my room at 11 am and the nurses attempted my IV, however, I ended up with three blown veins. My arms are a mess right now, with bruises all over them . Thankfully, Nurse Joy tried it for the 4th time and it worked great. I was having very consistent contractions on my own, hitting around the 6 to 7 range, I think the highest are 10 on the monitor. Just I pretty much just relaxed until around 1 or so and Dr. Harrison broke my water and the contractions started coming harder and closer together. A few hours later I got my epidural and let me tell you I was really ready for that. After, it was put in, I was still feeling a ton of pain, so the anesthesiologist decided to give me some more medicine and that did the trick. By this point I was a 6 cm, so around shift change at 7pm, the new nurse checked me and said I was at 10 and ready to go. They went to call Dr. Harrison, however, he was already minutes away because he knew I would be ready. I started pushing at 7:11 and Corbin was born at 7:23. He got a 9 on the apgar scale at birth and 5 minutes later, so a very healthy little boy. I was just amazed at his beautiful strawberry blonde hair. We stayed in recovery for awhile and then off to our room for the next 48 hours. I was in shock that he slept non-stop, everyone knows his sister never did that :) He was a little jaundice, but not enough for him to stay. We got home on Saturday afternoon and it was a great transition for Caroline meeting her baby brother for the second time, but this was the first time at home. Aunt Sarah and Uncle Jason met us at the house. While, we were at the hospital Miss Sandra kept Caroline and I know she spoiled her rotten, which is exactly what I wanted her to do. She took Caroline shopping for some "Big Sister" gear, went to the park, lots of wagon rides, etc. Thank you so much Sandra for taking care of my sweet Caroline. I never once worried for a second about Caroline, just missed her terribly.

Caroline meeting Corbin for the first time!!

Everytime I watch this video I tear up for some reason (hormones maybe). I have lots of pics to post from Corbin's delivery. But, it is very busy around the Kelly house to say the least :) I think she was so confused, she had not seen mommy in a day and I was in a bed holding a bed, she was trying so hard to understand it all.

another brand new picture!

I think he looks like his big sister!

Corbin Michael Kelly

Born July 23, 2009
7:23 pm
weighing 7 lb 9 oz
measuring 20 inches

(one minute before his big sister!)

He is here!

All I know is Amy is doing great and David will send a picture as soon as he can.

I will post it as soon as I have it!

Yeah Corbin!

Pushing!

So the doctor got there pretty quickly...
She is ready to push!

Complete!

Amy is at 10 cm now!

The doctor will be there in 20 minutes.

Here comes Corbin!

Updates

6:10
Now they started the petocin and all the area is prepped for Corbin's arrival!

5:30
Amy is now dialated to 6 cm and is getting her epidural. She hasn't had any petocin, it's all her = in labor! She's having hard contractions, 2 minutes apart.
Stay tuned!

3:15
The dr just broke Amy's water and she's at 5 cm!!!
She's already having hard contractions on her own so they don't have her on petocin yet. They want the anesthesiologist to be available (apparently today is a popular day to have a baby) for when/if she wants her epidural. (and she will want it but they don't want to go too fast just in case)
I know Amy would want me to tell you to pray for our friend, Valerie. She's just 24 1/2 weeks pregnant and is having contractions. She's been fighting to keep maybe Millee inside for a few weeks now. Pray the drs can stop her labor again and keep that baby girl cooking for a while!

2:45
Amy says they haven't checked her yet but they will probably be starting the petocin at 3:00.

12:50

Amy says she finally got the IV in and is having contractions 5 min apart, only having water going through the IV for now.

The dr just came by and said he was going to stir up trouble around 3pm :).

We'll keep you posted!

Now it's Corbin's birthday!

This is Bern, I am hijacking Amy's blog because, guess what??? SHE'S IN LABOR!!!

Amy went to the dr this morning and she was dialated 4 cm and 80% effaced, so off to labor and delivery she went!

They are having trouble getting her IV in, 3 blown veins. Ouchies.

I will post as we have updates. Her dr thinks Corbin will arrive this evening, hopefully by 6 pm!

So exciting!

Caroline's first bloody lip :(

Dressed for the day and ready to go.
This is how I have to take pictures now, with her on the go.

Running away from me :)

Being all serious looking for Lacey.

I see you!!

I don't have pictures, but Caroline got her first bloody lip on Sunday. I do have some really cute pre-bloody lip pictures before we left the house. We had about three errands to run on Sunday and our first stop was Best Buy. Since Caroline is walking and literally running everywhere, we decided to let her down and walk by herself. Well, she took off running from me and doesn't want me to hold her hand. I am sure all you mommies with new walkers know where I am coming from. So, I basically just chased her all over Best Buy while David took care of business. Well, she ran into a display case and bit her lip. I didn't realize she was bleeding at first. She was screaming so loud, so David suggested or a better word would be demanded that I take her outside. Once, we got to the car I realized we both had blood on us. I examined her face and sure enough, she had bit her bottom lip. After a few minutes of putting pressure on it, it stopped bleeding and it didn't even phase Caroline. So, we were off to finish our errands. I am sure that there are many more bloody lips in our future.

Go faster DADDY!!

Caroline loves her new fill and dump wagon from her great-aunt Joyce and great-uncle Danny!! However, she takes all the toys out and wants me or daddy to push her around the house. Well, I am in no shape at this very moment to be running around the house :) So, daddy goes really fast and she loves it. When, David stops she literally throws a fit. We can usually distract her to another toy once the wagon ride is over.
Sidenote: I don't think she will fit in there much longer. So, she will have to put her baby dolls in there and push them around.

38- week Corbin update!!

Well, David and I thought Corbin was coming this past Saturday. I woke up at 2am with really bad contractions and couldn't go back to sleep. We finally decided to go to labor and delivery about 7:30 am on Saturday morning. They started monitoring what was going on and I was having lots of contractions, but they were not 30-40 seconds long like they wanted them to be, so I was sent home. I went to the doctor yesterday and I am 3cm 60 effaced, so no change since Saturday. I go back this Thursday morning and he told us to bring our bags, but I am not going to get too excited just yet. Dr. Harrison did say that without a doubt Corbin would be a July baby, so that is some encouraging words :) Here are the 38 week belly pics!! Wow, my belly is really, really big!!
