Sarah got her wedding dress!!!

My mom, Sarah and myself went wedding dress shopping for Sarah on Saturday. Sarah had to go get fitted for a bridesmaid dress, anyways. She was just going to look for fun, since the wedding is still a ways off. Well, right in front of our face was the most beautiful wedding dress that I have ever seen. She tried on several, but that first one was the ONE, so she has that checked off her wedding list. I can't say what it looks like, but trust me on her wedding day she will be the most beautiful bride. I get tears in my eyes just thinking about it :(

My brother got a new puppy!!!

Jason got a 10-week old boxer this weekend and he is the sweetest little boy. We have all little girl dogs in our family (total of 8 to be exact). So, Jake is the first little boy. My brother brought him over to play with Katie and Lacey yesterday. Katie has a new favorite bud.

Camping and Fishing on the Little Red

We went camping and fishing on the Little Red this past weekend. We left on Saturday afternoon later than we expected. We got to the campsite where we met my sister, Jason K., Sara, Trey, Tommy and Sarah. We got our tent all set up and we headed out to do a little trout fishing. David rented a fishing boat from the base. So, we loaded Katie and Lacey up on the boat and we took off. We got a couple of bites, but the river was very high, so we decided we would try again on Sunday morning. So, once we got back to the campsite, we started dinner. Trey made some awesome deer chili, we grilled hamburgers and I brought St. Patrick's Day cupcakes for everyone. It started to get pretty chilly before we decided to call it a night. It probably reached 30 degrees if not colder, being right there on the water. Everyone brought heaters for their tent, but we didn't. So, needless to say we almost froze. Also, Katie and Lacey do not do well in a tent. They constantly moving around and barking because they think they hear something. So, we probably got no more than a couple hours of sleep. We woke up bright and early on Sunday morning. David made an awesome breakfast and we packed everything up and headed down to the boat to do a little fishing before we left. Well, we got there the boat was half way full of water, almost ready to sink. The river dropped almost 6-feet the night before the wake from other boats coming by early in the morning, filled our boat with water. Trey and David got a bucket to start dumping water out of it. In the meantime, Trey and Sara's dog, "Cowboy" ( a chocolate lab) was playing with Katie and Lacey. Let me re-phrase that, he was playing with Katie because Lacey was trying to make everyone stop playing. Well, Cowboy proceeded to run ninety miles per hour up a 90 degree cliff and Katie followed, not quite sure how she made it up there, she is much smaller than Cowboy, well before I could even think here she came rolling down the cliff, she didn't realize she could go around and take the path. She is so lucky she didn't break anything. She only had a small cut on her belly. So, finally we got the boat up and running, so at this point we were just ready to come home.

Sidenote: We purchased a ski boat on Saturday morning, so the only thing on our mind was getting home and getting that cleaned up so we can get it ready for the lake. I will be attaching pictures of the before and after pictures and all the details later this week. We are going to live on the lake this summer and I can't wait :)

Just some pics from last weekend.....

David and I met up with Julie and Eric and went downtown to Sticky Fingerz to see Will Hoge. He had two opening bands, they were alright, but he was great. I had never heard of him, but Julie and Eric were more familiar with him. We had good food, good entertainment and great company. Sorry, Julie and Eric that we can't go tonight to see Shooter Jennings.

How time flies.....

One year ago today (March 8) we got little Katie Bug. I had to do a little reminiscing tonight and add the pictures the first day we got her. She flew in from Kansas around noon and I picked her up at the airport. We were right in the middle of building our house and we had just moved in with my mom. I can't believe we brought a puppy during this stressful time, but she was the best puppy ever.

A get in shape challenge for myself......

So, over the past couple of years I have gained a little weight, nothing out of hand but the kind as you get older and eat everything you want kind of weight. So, starting this morning I went running for about two miles ( I thought I wasn't going to make it), gosh I am so out of shape. So, I am going to really watch what I eat, mainly cut out sodas and fried food and start exercising several times a week and I think it will be easy to get back down to my wedding day size. My goal is 15 pounds (so that should be pretty easy), we will see. I am writing these specific blogs for myself to keep up with my progress. But, feel free to give me any encouragement, healthy recipes, workout plan advice, etc.

Spanky and Rein's adventure!!!

We had a good family friend and his dog "Spanky" spend the weekend with us. We had lots of fun catching up and watching the pups play. Rein and Spanky on on the road traveling close to all 50 states climbing the highest mountain in each state. So, their stop in Arkansas was Mt. Magazine (sad to say we have never been there), but I would love to go stay in the new lodges there. So, Rein and Spanky arrived in Maumelle on Friday night, we just caught up for awhile and hung out. So, Saturday morning Rein and Spanky left on their excursion to Mt. Magazine for the day. During this time David was on a mission to get our fire pit completed. I will update that a little later once I get some pics. Katie, Lacey and Spanky played all weekend. Lacey really doesn't play she is just the referee in the playing action. So, if she felt that there was too much action she would jump in the middle and do her supposed to be scary growl (whatever), Spanky wasn't scared. So, needless to say they are both passed out right now recuperating from the busy weekend they had. Also, check out Rein and Spanky's website www.50summits.blogspot.com We had a great weekend and we look forward to seeing Rein and Spanky soon. Thanks Rein for the great Mexican dinner on Saturday night and the wonderful Arkansas Portfolio coffee table book. Good luck with all your future adventures.

We are getting two new additions to our family......

*Note: The first pic is Toni and the second picture is Tilly
Joyce and Ken are getting two keeshonds this weekend. Their names are Toni and Tilly as of right now but they are thinking of changing them later. They will be getting them this weekend. They have had two in the past, but unfortunately they had to put both of them down due to old age. The two new girls are about 4 years old and they are getting them from a keeshond rescue. David and I can't wait to meet them this summer when we go to Florida to visit. Then, at Christmas we will be at our house, so we will have 4 keeshonds running around, I can't wait :)

Great time on Friday night!!!

We met up with some friends on Friday night and went to "Electric Cowboy". We were celebrating a couple of birthdays and my sister passing her second semester of nursing school. It was good times!!! The pic I added of David is hiliarious because it had been forever since we had been out to the cowboy and that was his thought on the whole night. HA!ha!

This movie is awesome!!!

David and I watched "The Guardian" last night and it was such a great movie. We normally don't stay up past 10:30 on a week night, but we started this around 9:30 and it last until about 11:30, but it was worth staying up for. Here is an overview:

After losing his crew in a fatal crash, legendary Rescue Swimmer, Ben Randall, is sent to teach at "A" School, an elite training program for Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers. Wrestling with the loss of his crew members, he throws himself into teaching, turning the program upside down with his unorthodox training methods. While there, he encounters a young, cocky swim champ, Jake Fischer, who is driven to be the best. During training, Randall helps mold Jake's character, combining his raw talent with the heart and dedication required of a Rescue Swimmer. Upon graduation, Jake follows Randall to Kodiak, Alaska, where they face the inherent dangers of the Bering Sea. In his initial solo rescue, Jake learns firsthand from Randall, the true meaning of heroism and sacrifice, echoing the Swimmer's motto--"So Others May Live!"
