Greery Ferry Lake~It's my favorite by far!!

Jason and Sarah relaxing on the tube

The storm that we got hit by

Lacey hanging out by the shore

David chilling on my raft

Lacey is looking at something ahead, she is the watch dog of the boat

Sarah and I enjoying a cold beverage

Party barge that we tied up with for awhile

So tired after being out on the water all day, but Katie and Lacey are freaking out

The close-up shot that we always seem to take

Since, I didn't eat my apple from breakfast, Lacey decided to.

At the hotel on Sunday morning

My little Katie Bug

This past weekend David and I went to Greers Ferry lake. I wanted to make a weekend of it, so I called every hotel in the area to see which ones accepted pets. I finally found on in Clinton, it was a Best Western and it was only $65/dollars per night, so I reserved it for Saturday night. We left early Saturday morning and the weather was gorgeous at the time. We picked Sarah up in Conway because she was meeting Jason up there at Sugarloaf for the annual Camperee (spelling??) for the Knights of Columbus. We put the boat in at Choctaw and we won't even go there. David and I are still trying to find a plan of action to put the boat in, since I am not comfortable controlling it while he is parking. We are usually in his truck and I can't drive a standard. I wished I would of learned that early, but oh well. Once, we got on the water, it was beautiful, so we went and picked up Jason and Sarah and went over to a cove and swam and just pretty much relaxed for awhile. Well, the next thing we know lightning bolts and thunder are coming out of nowhere, well we didn't have time to get back to the campgrounds, so we just rode it out. It is funny now that I look back on it. David and Jason used my cheap air raft to keep the rain from coming in from the side, it was hilarious. But, then the rain stopped and we enjoyed the rest of the afternoon. Well, around 6ish we headed to the hotel, got settled and ordered some pizza. Lauren, we bought phase 10, but did not play it we were way too tired. So, the night was horrible because Katie and Lacey were restless all night, doing this muffle bark that kept me awake. I got up several times to take them outside to go to the bathroom and it was pouring down rain. On Sunday morning, it looked like it was going to rain, but we decided we would go out to the water for a short time, well I walk out to load the bags in the car and you can see what I saw in the picture that I took. We headed back home and just relaxed the rest of the weekend. This weekend, we have a few going to the casino with us, since I have a free room. I will let you know if we win the "JACKPOT".

Golf Tournament for Charlotte Mulhearn

My friend Susan's niece is awaiting a heart transplant at Arkansas Children's Hospital. She's only 4 weeks old (born May 29, 2007). A benefit golf tournament will be held on August 6 at the Centennial Country Club in Conway to help with medical expenses. If you're a golfer get your team all set up. If you are not a golfer then you can donate money, prizes or sponsor a hole. Check out the site about the tournament www.golfforcharlotte.com and also Charlotte's site www.caringbridge.org/visit/charlottemulhearn to keep up with her progress. Thanks in advance for your help!! Please pray for baby Charlotte.

Hanging out at Cajuns' with Sarah

Sarah and I needed a girl's night out really bad. We decided on Cajuns Thursday night, since the deck was open. We had a great time hanging out and not to mention the two hours of dancing our booties off :) I had a great time with you Sarah and I love you so much!!! I am so lucky to have such a great little sister!!

Let's make a deal!!

For those of you that don't know, David loves golf. He would play it seven days a week if he had a perfect life. Well, this past Saturday he wanted to practice his putting, so we both decided to play. Keep in mind that I am using a right-handed golf club and I am left-handed. So, we had a putting contest. David put several pieces of tape from different distances in our garage and he had some golf thing (I have no idea what it is called and it catches your golf ball). So, I got a few practice rounds. Well, let's say I did not need those. We stayed tied through much of the game, but Lacey and Katie kept trying to catch and stop the balls, they thought it was a game for them. So, in the end I won and my prize was a 60-minute massage given by my husband. So, I decided to use different time increments, I am down to 30 minutes. So far I think my feet are the only parts of my body (it's my favorite) that I have used my time on. I am thinking of saving the rest for when I start running next week because I will probably be so sore. This weekend we are off to Greers Ferry for a weekend boating trip. I put a veto on camping in a tent, it is too HOT!!! Luckily, I got reservations in a hotel that accepts pets in Clinton, so we will just put the boat in at Choctaw. So, I really want to go get some fun board games for David and I to play once we head back to the hotel. The only game I have is Skipbo and I wore that out on our last cabin trip. So, any suggestions would be great :)

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

David and I are very fortunate to have grown up with two great dads to teach us and support us through our life. I want to wish Ken and my dad (even though he is not here on Earth with us, his spirit is with me everyday). There is never a day that goes by that I do not think of my dad. I am just so lucky to have a wonderful father-in-law that I love dearly. Even though, David doesn't have any children, he sure does have two fur babies that love him very much. I also want to wish all the dads out there a very special Father's Day. The picture that I scanned of my dad and I looks a little different, but I have digital pictures saved. Four years ago, I was still using the disposable cameras :)

Can't wait until Monday!!

So, my regular OB doctor suggested that if we wanted to, we could go see a high risk doctor. I called yesterday to make the appointment and she said it could be months, so I got really frustrated and then she just happened to ask who my regular doctor is currently and when I told her Dr. Weidower, she said well in that case can you come on Monday?!! Come to find out, my doctor worked with Dr. Wendel during her residency. David and I are really looking forward to meeting him. He will probably just ask us a lot of questions, etc. the first visit, but at least we can start the process!!!

Please pray for these families!!!

Gosh, it seems like when it rains it pours. Please pray for these families, they have both had major tragedies in their lives. First off, my friend has a family that she goes to church with. Baby Jaden Taylor was 18 months old and an ideal healthy child and almost two weeks ago, he had congestive heart failure. He was admitted to Children's and was put on life support due to the swelling of his brain and heart. They lost him last Thursday. I can't even imagine the pain the parents are going through. The other family is one of my very good friends (Brandy) co-workers. She was full term and was supposed to be induced yesterday. She began feeling something was wrong on Friday because she could not feel the baby move as much, but they did ultrasounds and everything was fine, the heart rate was good, etc. Then, she did not feel him move all day on Saturday and went to the ER and everything still looked good. Well, she went in on Sunday because she still didn't feel him move and the baby had passed. The cord was twisted three times around his neck and had a knot it in. So, they began to induce her so that she could deliver the baby, but her temp spiked, so they had to do a c-section. My heart breaks for both of these families, so please say a little prayer for each one of these families.

Weekend in Review-What a great one!!!

Well, David and I started out our weekend a little early. I was recovering on Friday and he stayed home with me all day. We didn't do much on Friday because as I began to get around, I could feel I was overdoing it. I didn't know what to do with myself because I had so much energy. So, on Saturday we had lunch, ran errands, and watched "Catch and Release", (it was an alright). Then, on Sunday we went to breakfast, grocery shopping and then went to Conway to eat "China Town" with my mom, sister and Jason. I did get my appetite back, which is a good and bad thing. I am bound and determined to get my butt in shape after my two week pelvic rest. I don't have an exercise plan yet, but I am going to work on that the next week. Also, I just want to say that I have the best HUSBAND IN THE WORLD. Of course, I know David loves me and we have a very close relationship, but since we have gone through so many difficult times in the past several months together, it only brings us closer. He did not leave my side all weekend and he always knew just the right things to say and do when I needed it. I know someday besides the best husband in the world, he will be the best dad to our children. For now, he will have to settle being a doggy dad to Katie and Lacey. I am just thankful to have such great family and friends that are so supportive and love us both so much!!! You all know what a desire we both have to be parents!! I am working on getting a referral to a fertility doctor, but that sometimes can be a challenge with the military insurance. Also, I am going to include some flowers that David's work and my mom and sister brought by, they are so beautiful. Now, let's see how long I can keep them alive :)

Can't Sleep

Okay, I have a long day ahead of me and I really should be sleeping now, but that is the last thing I could do. So, I woke up to catch up on some work e-mails that I had not replied to yesterday. My friend had sent me a poem about miscarriage, I just have to post it because it is so true:
Just Those Few Weeks

For those few weeks-
I had you to myself.
And that seems too short of time
To be changed so profoundly.

In those few weeks-
I came to know you....
And to love you.
You came to trust me with your life.
Oh, what I life I planned for you!!

Just those few weeks-
It wasn't enough time to convince others
How special and important you were.
How odd, a truly unique person has recently died
And no one is mourning the passing.

Just a few mere weeks-
And no "normal" person would cry all night
Over a tiny, unfinished baby,
Or get depressed and withdraw day after endless day.
No one would, so why am I?

You were just those few weeks my little one
You darted in and out of my life too quickly.
But it seems that's all the time you needed
To make my life so much richer-
And give me a small glimpse of eternity.

Please pray for us!!!

Well, I don't even know where to start. Here we go again, almost 4 months to the day. Since, I have the most wonderful doctor in the world, she told me to stop by today for an ultrasound, since I was still a little nervous due to our loss a few months ago. Well, this experience was completely different we saw the fast heartbeat two weeks ago and everything was on track. Well, today we went in and everything looked perfect, the baby had developed right on track, it measured 9 weeks, but there was no heartbeat. It had just stopped beating within a day or so. So, just to make sure my doctor sent me to radiology and they have an awesome machine, just to make sure. But, there was still no heartbeat. The ultrasound machine was unbelievable, we could see the nose, umbilical cord, head, arm and leg buds, little bitty fingers, etc. It is a true nightmare for David and I. My doctor is going to start doing lots of testing to try to figure out what could be wrong. She thinks it could be a blood clotting issue, but only God knows. I am going in for a d&c in the morning, so I just wanted to update since I had promised so many of you a updated ultrasound pictures. Please keep us in your prayers because we are both going through the most difficult time right now.

Memorial Day Weekend

We were testing Katie's life jacket, as you can see she doesn't like it at all.

Katie and Lacey always jumped in my chair when I got up

Just getting ready for dinner and to start the fire

Our new top for the boat was great for the shade

Unloading stuff from the boat

I know I have been such a slacker at my blogging, but I haven't felt the greatest lately. The morning sickness has seemed to last all day and night. But, even though I wasn't feeling the best, we still had a great Memorial Day weekend. We took the boat to Lake Ouachita early on Friday and scouted out for a great private island. By the time we got there, they were few and far between. We ended up finding a great island and we were the only ones around. We set up the campsite and I pretty much laid in my chaise lounge all weekend. My brother met up with us later on Friday and we all stayed until Sunday morning. We did some boating, grilling, tubing (not me of course, but David and Jason) and overall it was great weather. I was afraid it was going to be too hot, but it was perfect. Also, of course Katie and Lacey had a great time swimming and just exploring (what they do best).
